About SRFC
Shepshed Rugby Football Club was founded by current Club Chairman Ray Short in 1986, after a successful playing career in his home country of Wales and latterly at Coalville Rugby Club in Leicestershire.
The main ethos of the club was to provide social rugby and to establish a team to play against other local teams in Leicester, Coalville and Loughborough.
After a few years, Shepshed established itself in various leagues culminating in now playing in Leicestershire League Division 2 and are working towards having 2 sides playing each week.
We remain a social side, bringing in players from Shepshed and the surrounding towns, and are proud that our team represents all levels, shapes, sizes and ability, whilst remaining true to the original ethos. Players come from all areas of society, ranging from Firemen to Office Workers, Salesmen to Store Keepers and we pride ourselves on being a welcoming club.
We’re recruiting for our seconds at the moment, so anyone interested should get in touch with the site administrator on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
